July 4th in Lake Tahoe

One of our Christmas presents from Bryan's mom was a trip to Lake Tahoe for the Fourth of July. She rented a house in South Lake Tahoe for three nights and four days. We were lucky to be joined by Bryan's Aunt Cheryl and his Grandma Rushworth, who didn't want to miss out on the fun. And what fun we had! It was a beautiful house right next to some beautiful trails overlooking the lake.

On July 3rd we went to a fireworks show on Kings Beach where we enjoyed playing at the beach in the afternoon, then dinner, card games, and the fireworks show with music. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time.

On the 4th we enjoyed a brunch and tour of Lake Tahoe aboard M.S. Dixie. It was a yummy meal and so much fun to be on a boat. I think this is the first boat trip for Rachel and Ben.

At home later the kids enjoyed the hot tub...or rather the cold tub as Taylor named it since the heat was not working and was only about 80 degrees. The kids didn't seem to mind though.

We had a yummy BBQ that night, watched 17 again, and played more games. We were going to go up on the trail to watch the firework show over the lake, but frankly we were all exhausted from all of our activities that we just decided to stay home and enjoy each other's company.
