I ran my first 5K on July 26th with my sister Cherie and her husband Ken. It was a lot of fun, especially since it was put on by my former employer East Lawn Memorial Park. I was able to see some old friends, including my former boss (and Bishop) Alan Fisher. The run was to benefit Alzheimer research in honor of our dear friend Diane Jensen, who now suffers from the disease. It was good to see the Jensen family there.
I ran my second 5K put on by my stake on August 16th and improved on my first time by 3 minutes. Woohoo!!

4th of July Fun!

Our ward had a 4th of July breakfast/open house. Here are Rachel and Ben enjoying some pancakes. I think Ben had at least five. He loves his pancakes!

Bryan & I were in charge of a Mormon Battalion display. We got a lot of really cool items from our old friend Jerry Gardner from the old 7th Ward.

One of the brothers in our ward dressed as George Washington. After Rachel took this picture with him she kept asking me if we could go say hi again to the man with the white hair.

The kids and cousin Taylor had a great time decorating their bikes for the parade.

The kids had a fun picnic in the back yard on the table of our new play structure. Bryan and Auntie Kim joined in the picture.
