Ben turns 4!

I tried my hand at cake decorating for Ben this year. He requested a soccer ball cake so here is the result. It wasn't perfect, but he was excited about it.



We had a fun family party for him and he is happy to finally be 4.

Cousin Taylor and Aunt Robyn have had birthdays recently and Ben was very upset at their parties that he could not open up any presents. I told him he would have his own birthday soon and that only he would be opening presents on his day. Several times in the ensuing weeks he wanted a reassurance that he would be the only one opening up presents on his birthday, and was very proud when his day finally came.

He has enjoyed riding his "big boy bike" the past few days and playing with his new toys. Ben is such a cuddly, loving little guy and it is fun to see his personality develop.

Easter Sunday

Easter was on General Conference weekend this year, which I love. The kids got to enjoy their baskets and egg hunting (though we had to hunt inside this year due to rain) and then we got to celebrate the resurrection by listening to the Prophet and Apostles. We had our ham dinner with just the kids because they were just getting over the flu, but we had a very enjoyable day together.

The Preparation...

Ben has been asking for Easter since the day after Christmas, so he was very excited to color his eggs.

He only cracked two of the six. Not bad for a 3-year-old, right?

Rachel refused to pose with her eggs but I caught her decorating an easter bunny sack puppet.
